Alex Musiychuk

I started taking piano lessons from Sevy Phalangas in 3rd Grade. I've improved my skills continuously and performed my pieces at recitals every Winter and Spring.

I started learning the Alto Saxophone from Mr. Schimpf in 4th Grade at Linden Hill Elementary School

I joined Sanford School in 5th Grade and became apart of the band. I started private lessons alongside Ms. Knaster, and eventually Ms. Derrick.

When I was in 5th grade, I performed during an interlude at the Winter Middle School Concert. I played a piece called "Escapade" on piano.

I joined the 7th and 8th Grade band directed by Dr. Barudin and later Mr. Molush.

I was invited to join the High School jazz band in 7th grade by Dr. Barudin, then by Mr. Molush in 8th grade. This was initially a jazz band that slowly molded and transformed into the current rock band. Currently, I am playing Tenor Saxophone in this band to challenge myself.

Every year from 7th to 9th, I auditioned for the Junior All State band. I got in every year. Different conductors like JaRod Hall from around the country were invited to conduct.

An outside of school opportunity to play my instrument. Directed by Dr. Reynolds, the band met once a week to prepare for a concert in December.

I started receiving private lessons once a week from Mr. Lardear to improve my mechanical skill.

After, doing DYWE last year with Dr. Reynolds I chose to try it again. This time there was only one all day rehearsal until the concert that evening.

A school band directed by Mr. Molush available for all of High School.

Alonside Mr. Lardear, I also take private lessons from Mr. Harris to ultimately improve all my skills.
