I strongly believe that effective teachers are those who are enthusiastic about the subjects they teach. Patience and constant support for students are extremely important. As a teacher, I intend to create a positive and dynamic learning environment where each student can learn and grow at their own pace and experience a great sense of personal accomplishment when they achieve their individual goals. Regardless of the students' age group, I am capable of fostering enthusiasm and motivation in the classroom, which encourages satisfactory learning. Therefore, I occasionally incorporate games, songs, and movies into my lessons. Additionally, I write and direct plays for students to perform in local and provincial areas. I have experienced teaching all age groups in China. My teaching subjects include Writing, Speaking, Creative Reading, Reading (English Newspapers & Magazines), Listening, Business English, Cambridge Business English, IELTS, Western Culture, Literature, Drama, Novel, Poetry, and VCE EAL.
As a translator, I convert words from one language to another, capturing the nuances, idioms, and cultural references unique to each language to ensure accurate and contextually appropriate translations. I meticulously analyze the original text, understanding not just the words but also the underlying meanings, and then artfully convey these in English while retaining the essence of the source material. At times, I face the challenge of preserving the tone, style, and subtleties of the original English content while effectively rendering it in Arabic. My responsibilities extend beyond mere linguistic conversion; I am entrusted with preserving the integrity and intent of the text, making my work a vital conduit for cross-cultural communication and understanding.
During my first Master's degree with the Open University UK (DL), I conducted research using Systematic Functional Linguistics (SFL). This involved collecting qualitative data from students' writing texts. The data was analyzed to identify writing issues and provide assistance for improvement.
In my current Master's research at Leicester University (On-campus), I have adopted a mixed methodology, specifically data triangulation, to gather both qualitative and quantitative data. My investigation focuses on the impact of Speaking Anxiety on Chinese English-major university students in China. I distributed a Likert-scale and open-ended questionnaire among 100 Chinese participants to achieve this. Additionally, I conducted interviews with 10 students to gain insight into their perspective on English Speaking Anxiety (ESA).
