Teaching Assistant

Summary

During my most recent full time employment, working as a teaching assistant, a social worker and as a children's charity volunteer, I have encountered various challenging, rewarding, uplifting and empowering moments. I feel that the experience I have gained has provided me with a very strong foundation in enabling me to teach, care and support children in international settings and to treat them as individuals with the guidance to fulfil their potential with each careful step they take along life's journey. I am a very motivated, proactive, committed and dedicated person who gains great satisfaction in contributing the skills necessary to enjoy an inspiring working relationship with the children, colleagues and families I work with on a professional and friendly level.

I am a very caring and mindful teaching assistant in my field of work with up to thirteen years classroom experience. Within this role I possess a strong multitasking ability and excellent communication skills, and in the process of supporting the teacher I enthusiastically engage with the children within their various lessons. At present I am providing support in subjects such as, English, Maths, Topic, Sports and Ethics.

In addition to the academic studies, I offer yoga, mindfulness, sports and dance in the after school curriculum programme. During the last few years I have also provided support in the kindergarten, where I pride myself with the ability to deliver high quality care and education to those I teach. I am motivated in creating an environment where children are happy, secure and relaxed. It is important to me that this is nurtured, with my patient nature and high levels of personal warmth, tolerance, empathy, understanding and positivity in enabling the children to connect to themselves and help develop their creative skills and all round growth.

In my freetime I enjoy, music, sport, theatre, travelling and yoga.

I have always enjoyed my visits to Milan over the last few years and I feel the time is right for a change of country and school where I am very enthusiastically motivated in integrating myself within the Italian culture and learning the language. A new school environment would also provide me with the opportunity to establish myself in another international setting and gain more experience in the process.
