  • Navigation. Arrival / departure Bridge support and maneuvering. Lead of the watch if necessary.


  • Vessel stability. Responsible for stability calculation, ensuring proper trim and list.
  • Ship maintenance. Ensuring that all Deck planned maintenance is carried out appropriately.
  • Ship overall appearance. Monitoring and supervision of Bosun and his team for the cleanliness, care and maintenance of the hull, superstructure, weather decks, stairs, railings, windows, etc.
  • Tank inspections. Ensuring that all fresh water, grey water, ballast and dry tanks are properly cleaned and maintained according to respective requirements.
  • Tender operations. Organization and supervision of safe process.
  • Project management within Deck department. Contractor work supervision as required.
  • Budgeting. Planning stocks by quarters, POs and follow-up.
  • Unplanned maintenance. Guarantee claims and follow-up, third-party service arrangement, etc.
  • Vessel loading. Responsible for practical issues within the process.
  • Workplace safety. Accident/incident preventing and reporting, establishment and promotion of workplace safety programs withing the team.
  • Division head, leading a team of 30+. Assuring STCW compliance within the team, discipline, contract rotations, teambuilding etc.


  • Safety training. Responsible for crew safety training in accordance with internal and external requirements. Providing regulatory training intended for onboard delivery, as well as specialized training like mobile fire group training, galley and laundry teams fire fighting, training on crew emergency duties. Tracking of crew compliance in regards to safety training certification.
  • Emergency plan. Ensuring compliance with Flag requirements for the emergency plan and survival craft manning and certification.
  • Pre-departure balancing of guest and crew manifests.
  • Fire fighting equipment maintenance. Responsible for proper operation of all portable FFE and mobile locker equipment. As well as it's appropriate inspection and maintenance.
  • Life saving equipment maintenance. Responsible for proper operation of ship's LSA and it's appropriate inspection and maintenance.
  • Safety drills. Responsible for planning and organization of drills of different types, in accordance with internal and external requirements.
