- Collaborate with ancillary personnel, techs, MDs, and pharmacists while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
- Perform and assess vitals.
- Provide patient education, and evaluate readiness for the procedure.
- Implement physician orders, perform assessments for the procedure, and administer medication and treatments.
- Start IVs, perform tests for COVID, glucose, pregnancy, EKG, type and screen, and document accordingly.
- Evaluate and interpret diagnostic/lab orders and results, MD notes, consents, and patient escort.
- Apply nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Answer patients' questions by establishing rapport and ensuring comfort.
- Take reports, receive and monitor patients for condition changes, and report to the MD as needed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a plan of care.
- Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress for discharge criteria (orientation, I/O, TR band, bladder scan).
- Perform intervention duties as needed for post-op emergencies.
- Endorse patients, and delegate tasks to ensure patient-centered care.
- Make post-op calls to follow up on patients' status and address concerns.
