Christina Popowski

I am a lifelong learner, global explorer and enthusiastic international educator with a passionate commitment to future focused pedagogy. I believe that my role as an educator is to equip students with the content knowledge and skills to become socially responsible and culturally competent global citizens. I lead and teach by developing meaningful relationships with my students, colleagues and the community. I am passionate about language learning as well as social studies. I strive to create innovative learning environments that make learning fun and purposeful, and I foster a classroom environment conducive to learning.

I am seeking a teacher position in an international school setting in which I can use my knowledge, skills and broad experiences acquired in the classroom as well as non-classroom settings, to help pursue their educational goals.

• Support colleagues to fulfill expectations, apply best practices, prioritize student learning and meet stated deadlines.
• Attend bi-monthly head of department meetings to help shape the academic direction of the secondary school and arrange and run bi-monthly Modern Language department meetings.

• Organized and facilitated the meetings with the members of the HS and MS French PLC team in order to align proficiency-based targets and coordinate vertical alignment of the French curriculum, (grades 6-12).
• Facilitated the design and implementation of the proficiency and standards-based HS French curriculum.
• Input and updated the HS French curriculum in ATLAS Rubicon

2012 – 2014 R & D TEAM MEMBER   Singapore American School

• Researched 21st century best practices and successful schools around the world.
• Collaborated with six colleagues and HS administrators during the 2013-14 school year to develop an extensive strategic plan to transform student learning at the SAS HS in order to meet the needs of the 21st century teaching and learning.
