Reza Mohajer is a doctoral researcher, soloist, and record producer whose work synthesizes classical tradition, jazz innovation, and systematic musicology. Holding degrees from the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (CSU Long Beach)—where he was awarded a full scholarship for excellence in performance—his research explores the metaphysical, aesthetic, and structural dimensions of both classical and jazz composition. His honored master's thesis, A Transcendental Approach to John Coltrane, accompanies a creative body of work dedicated to the advanced rearrangement and recomposition of Coltrane's large-scale works.
His broader scholarly interests encompass music aesthetics, transcendental philosophy, and the socio-cultural perception of acoustic science. As a composer and performer, he has written for film, television, and the concert stage, performing as a featured soloist with renowned conductors and at major international festivals. Parallel to his academic pursuits, he maintains an active footprint in the commercial music industry, having served as a musical director, A&R executive, and producer on numerous major-label and independent projects. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation focusing on musicology and philosophical transcendence.
