A driven, interdisciplinary biochemist with skills across many areas. I am motivated by learning something new everyday and applying knowledge towards meaningful outcomes. I believe that there is something to learn from everybody and that strong communication skills and aptitude for team work are critical for success. ● Analyzed cannabinoid-glycoside potency of Pichia pastoris and plant-cell-suspension fermentation supernatants and cell pellets. Supernatants were routinely extracted with reverse-phase solid phase extraction. Cell pellets were extracted by tissue homogenization and/or sonication. Samples were analyzed by LC/MS equipped with a time-of-flight. Data analysis was performed with MassLynx and Unify Waters software-platforms.
● Contributed to downstream-processing development for large-scale extraction methods of glycosylated cannabinoids by centrifugal-partition-chromatography and column chromatography.
● Analyzed cannabinoid-potency of transformed Cannabis plants engineered with trichrome enhancement constructs and RNAi of cannabinoid-synthases with HPLC. Analyzed, reviewed, and reported data using Excel and the R statistical platform.
● Analyzed terpene content of transformed Pichia pastoris and Cannabisusing GC-FID.
● Contributed to cannabinoid-feedstock procurement with scientists and management team. Developed quality control process for cannabinoid-screening by third-party-CoA review and internal analysis.
● Developed thin-layer chromatography methods for algal wax-esters and wax-ester extraction procedures.
● Supported molecular biology research scientists by generating plasmid-constructs and performing transformations in E.coli and Agrobacterium.
● Contributed to authorship of standard-operating-procedures and experimental designs.
● Analyzed cannabinoid-potency of hemp biomass, bulk cannabinoid-rich hemp oil, and hemp-infused finished products in both water and lipid-soluble platforms. Regularly extracted samples, prepared for chromatography, performed sample analysis using HPLC, analyzed, reviewed, and reported data.
● Coordinated external-laboratory testing of other analyses including terpene, microbial, heavy metal, and pesticides
● Reviewed products for quality control for physical and sensory characteristics, created reports per standard operating procedures, collaborated with quality assurance/material review as necessary
● Created novel formulations and formulation procedures for phytocannabinoid-rich/zero-THC hemp-infused finished products including both water-soluble and oil-soluble platforms
● Contributed to research and development of new QC analysis procedures as well as manufacturing practices and procedures
● Conducted stability studies of bulk products and novel formulations
