Operated firefighting equipment and participated in drills to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
Participated in regular safety drills such as abandon ship drill, fire drill, man-overboard drill.
Reported any abnormalities or problems with the vessel's systems to the Chief Mate.
Attended to safety precautions during loading and unloading operations.
Assisted with launching and recovery of small boats used for various purposes.
Responded promptly to orders given by officers in charge while underway or in port.
Checked all hatches before sailing to make sure they are secure.
Stood watch on bridge when directed by Commanding Officer or Chief Mate.
Inspected and maintained lifesaving and firefighting devices and reported defects.
Supervised vessel entry and exit points and logged persons entering and leaving.
Performed physical labor in support of berthing and unberthing operations.
Swept, mopped and washed down decks to remove dirt and debris.
Maintained government-issued certifications.
