On the secondment role in Ireland Pharma as Finance Business Partner. This role gave me the better understanding of the commercial mindset in Pharma business which I am interested in more. In short time I was able to create a good communication with commercial teams and comply their needs on financial aspect.

My responsibilities on the SG&A side of the P&L, both in actuals and Plan/Forecast exercises, improved view which I established during Finance Controller role. I stepped up to the responsibilities on SFI process due to missing staff. And I’m still supporting the replacement employee during the following cycle.

• Finance support to Respiratory and Specialty therapy areas.
• Take part in DRM meetings and comment on variances in my respective therapy areas.
• Control and approve SG&A accruals.
• Take part in monthly performance meetings and comment on variances in SG&A, HC and my assigned therapy areas.
• Close watch on profitability of assigned products, take necessary actions in the event of inconsistency/inaccuracy.
• Preparation of SG&A portion in forecast and outer year plans
• Preparation of quarterly SFI targets with closely cooperating of BU Heads.
• Contact for third party SFI consultants (Axtria)

As Finance Controller for UK Pharma business; I created a good communication and a structured workflow with Finance Partners. With holding monthly meetings, I was able to understand dynamics of the market while Finance Partners were always aware of their respective therapy areas SG&A performance. This awareness gave them more visibility on their commercial teams and revealed any short comings of their spending ahead of the time.

On the F&A side I took extra responsibilities and involvement due to missing staff. I prepared monthly commentary files to region. I solely prepared SG&A soft landing workings. And with the information I acquired during month end reviews I was able to point out inaccuracies in YTG numbers. During plan exercises I prepared an extensive employment cost workings.

• Monthly variance analysis for P&L and Balance sheet.
• Month end preparation and presentation of Performance reports
• Calculating the adjustments for Balance Sheet and SG&A side of the P&L.
• Completion of close and post close activities
• Calculation of Global Pharma and SFI accruals on monthly basis.
• Cooperation with internal and external audit teams.
• Performing assigned SOX controls.
• Ad-hoc reports and support to Finance Partners in LOC.
• Close cooperation with F&A team on forecast, plan and soft-landing activities.

As Financial Controller, I have taken over the role from a team of 2 people. Due to division of companies, I built up most of the SOX and internal procedures anew. With a personal touch I created a commercial friendly finance system where I was able to keep the pulse of business daily. This helped commercial teams to understand which information is significant for finance.

As a result of good implementation of SOX procedures, the entities I was responsible became the first fully compliant entities in the EMEA region.

• Interface with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance and documentation.
• New business, Pipeline & R&O reporting to Regional Lead Team.
• Monthly Forecast vs Actual variance reports
• Preparation of Quarterly Forecast and yearly plan
• Quarterly Client profitability & Monthly Revenue
• Monthly PL & Balance Sheet reporting
• Monthly reconciliation reports for USGAAP
• HC analysis and reporting
• Sole contact for Intercompany transactions
• Control and approve all bank transactions
• Expedite ad-hoc requests for financial analysis from Stakeholders
• Providing finance support to commercial teams

As second in command of the F&A team which consisted of 4 people, main duty was intercompany relations and financial aspect of vendor relations. Calculation of vendor rebates and full process of intercompany transactions were the daily responsibilities.

Provide buy-side and sell-side due diligence reports for M&A transactions both for corporate buyers and private equity firms. As Senior Associate performed several different tasks in assigned projects.

I was sole F&A responsible for the company. Initial duty was to bring whole function to in house which was supported by Grant Thornton. After successful implementation, regular F&A function duties followed with the help of junior accountant.

Foreign partnership of previous company in Muscat. Leading a team of 2 junior accountants initially. I kept hands on work in daily F&A process while controlling the entries done by others. With increase in the work load the team expanded to 6 people while I kept my responsibilities under supervision of F&A manager.

First job experience as an accountant in company's headquarters in Istanbul with daily book keeping duties.
