I have a strong background in both food analysis, with extensive experience in genetic testing and microbial analysis. My work includes performing PCR and Real-Time PCR for GMO Parameter testing, as well as isolating DNA from various food matrices. In microbiology, I manage the isolation of bacteria, yeast, and fungi from agar plates, liquid cultures or certain objects (such as a trimmed strip for example) and I am proficient in preparing samples for Single-Plex and Multiplex PCR. I am also skilled in enrichment techniques, used to determine the presence of dead or living cells, such as bacteria, yeasts, or fungi, in food and beverage samples. I am familiar with preparing specific media for different microorganisms, such as Lactobacilli, yeast and mold and can create liquid cultures and agar plates for these purposes. Additionally, I handle autoclaving, both for sterilizing media used in enrichment and for processing customer samples after testing as well as procedures to apply the microorganism into liquid cultures or on agar plates. I contribute to the quality assurance process by recording values in established control charts and help maintain compliance with German ISO accreditation standards through careful documentation but also have developed efficient reference tables for microorganisms, including details about their environments, growth conditions, and risk levels. I also interpret sequencing results and assess microbial risks using official databases. Due to my training to become a BTA and current work experience, I am familiar with the procedures used in your laboratory, such as ELISA for allergen determination and traditional microbiological methods for examining bacteria and yeasts in food samples. While my primary experience lies with PCR-based methods, I appreciate the significance of your techniques and their application in the food industry. I remain open to widen my horizon to expanding my skill set, growing to improve the quality of my work and processes.
