Accomplishments

  • I served in the United States Marine Corps reserves for six years from 2000 to 2006 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. I received commendations for my service while on active duty serving in a combat zone in Iraq during 2003.
  • I was trained in the Marine Corps as a Field Wireman and Communications specialist. While serving a tour in Iraq during 2003 I deployed for several missions with a two and three man team responsible for supplying communications to forward units during combat operations. I served in areas from the border of Kuwait, to the heart of Baghdad.
  • In addition to my military service, I was a volunteer firefighter in the State of Delaware from 1994 to 2014. I served with the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown in the ranks of Lieutenant, and Captain for several years between military service. Beginning in 2008, I served with the Odessa Fire Company in the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, Board of Director, and ultimately to Vice President for several years. While serving as Vice President for three years I was a member of the committee to design and build a multi million dollar fire station which took over two years to complete. In addition to the fire station committee, I was a member of the committee in which we designed and built of two fire apparatus at a cost of over 1.2 million dollars. I oversaw training and employment requirements for the company's paid employees, assisted in the design and implementation of the company's first employee handbook, and employment training requirements. I have completed all levels of the Delaware State Fire School company officers courses and leadership classes.
