AREA ENGINEER

  • As an area engineer, I oversee the administration of contracts and oversight of the project supervisors on roadway construction projects ranging from 300k to 100 million dollars
  • My responsibilities include constructability plan reviews on projects in development, coordinating and chairing Preconstruction and Progress Meetings, interpreting contract plans and specifications, reviewing and responding to Contractor requests for information or change orders, negotiating new pricing for changes to contracts, monitoring project budgets and schedules, drafting contract related correspondence, supervising field inspection staff, coordinating with other sections of the Department, and other duties as required.

  • As the traffic operations program manager, I was responsible for the engineering lead on all projects associated with DelDOT’s Traffic Management Center
  • I helped develop and budget a rolling 5-year Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) plan and then oversaw the engineering design of all ITS devices from the planning stage through the handoff package to construction
  • Other duties included smart work zone technology, device procurement, travel time analysis, incident management, inclement weather preparation and multi-state coordination efforts
  • I also managed multiple consultant contracts who assisted with the work described above.
