I have been the Used Car Sales Manager since the beginning of 2024. Our department was in last place and they needed my help. I was able to double gross profit, increase the amount of cars sold and helped my store reclaim the top spot at my auto group by year end. I have learned to buy, recondition and wholesale cars while creating a margin for a thriving environment for my sales force.
Before I was running the used car department, I was the New Chevy Sales Manager from 2012 through 2024. I had built a core group of Sales Consultants and morale was great throughout those years. During covid I learned to adapt to rapid changes and kept our store thriving. For a short time 2023, I was actually a Sales Manager at our Hyundai store at the same time bouncing back and forth between stores on different days. I did this for 4-5 months until they could find a suitable Hyundai manager. I was able to learn both systems, all the product, how to run leases, RDR, and everything involved for both stores. My short time at Hyundai saw some of the best gross profit months for them of that year.
In 2011-2012 before I was promoted to Sales Manager I was the Internet Sales Director for the New Chevy Store and the Used Car department. I was able to double the output of internet based sales for the two stores almost immediately. I learned to manage people and train them until they were all self sufficient.
When I started in the business in 2010 I sold cars for about 7 months before I was promoted to Internet Sales Director. I have been a sales person at heart my entire life and I learned a lot about organization, internet leads and people. It was a great experience.
I worked here in college full time while taking a full course load. I learned every position in the store so I could be on rotation a full 40 hours around my school schedule. In addition to learning how to deal with the stress of a fast paced environment, I learned a lot about how to deal with people and data entry systems.
This was my first job. I learned the basics and worked my way up to various positions within the kitchen. I left this job to get a job closer to college. Left on good terms.
