Schrodinger Suite: Docking and Virtual Screening
I am a master student about to graduate (October 2022) with a strong interest in medicinal chemistry as a whole. My master's thesis project focused on continuum Poisson-Boltzmann calculations of ion channels. During my studies, I developed intermediate programming (Python, R & Bash), as well as medicinal chemistry-related skills (Molecular dynamics simulations and lead discovery-related tasks).
I worked in the Computational Pharmaceutical Chemistry group led by Prof. Dr. Holger gohlke on investigating the electrostatic influence of mutations of HCN channels on the gating behavior using continuum Poisson-Boltzmann calculations.
I provided advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication and liaised with other medical staff on problems patients experienced when taking their medicines.
I provided patient counseling on prescription medicines and recommended over the counter (OTC) medicines to manage minor symptoms.
I helped patients understand their medical condition by conducting on-on-one sessions with them t o educate them about the treatment plan, and the aftercare instructions. I was also responsible for developing materials such as brochures, pamphlets, and flyers to convey key points to the patients.
