  • Characterization of the interaction between the resistance protein Rz2 from Beta vulgaris and the avirulence protein triple gene block I from Beet Soil-Borne Mosaic Virus.
  • The study aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the interaction between the resistance protein Rz2 and the avirulence protein triple gene block I (TGB1) of BSBMV by creating deletion mutants of the resistant protein Rz2 domains to prove if the resistant protein Rz2 is able to induce hypersensitivity response (HR) when just one domain, a deletion variant or in complementation are agroinfiltrated in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves; and to determine the subcellular localization of the resistant protein Rz2 individual domains
  • Different biochemical, genetic, and molecular methods were utilized such as, PCR, DNA purification, Transformation of chemically resistant E. coli cells, Transformation of Agrobacterium tumefaciens by electroporation, western blot, an agroinfiltration trial with constructs that had an HA-Tag.
