- Since November 2022, I have been working in the Intensive Care Unit at BG Trauma Hospital. In January I became specialized Emergency Medicine physician and om February 2024 I completed my specialization in Anesthesia.

I am currently working across various departments as an Anesthetist, Intensive care physician and emergency medicine physician.

Rotation in the Interdisciplinary Intensive Care Unit

Hospital currently has 520 inpatient and 32 day-clinic beds.

The following main departments are represented in our hospital: General and pediatric surgery and pediatric surgery, vascular surgery ,Visceral surgery with trauma surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics with neonatology (the obstetrics department is a level 1 perinatal centre with over 3500 births per year), internal medicine with cardiology, gastroenterology and geriatrics, the Clinic for Perioperative Medicine (with emergency medicine anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, specializations the ENT department one and palliative medicine),pain therapy and in addition to visceral surgery, the main areas of care are vascular surgery.

The BG Klinik is a maximum-care trauma hospital with 550 beds. It has the Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics, the Clinic for Hand, Plastic and Severe Burns Centre, the AISO Clinic, the Reconstructive Surgery Department for Paraplegics and Technical Orthopedics, the Department for Occupational Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation Centre), the Rehabilitation and Reconstructive Neurosurgery Department and the Department of Radiological Diagnostics. In addition to the Christoph 5 rescue helicopter, the Christoph 112 intensive care helicopter and a ground-based emergency ambulance, the BG Klinik Ludwigshafen is also home to an intensive care ambulance (ITW), which is available to transport patients from the entire region under intensive care conditions.

The Clinic for Geriatrics and Internal Medicine is a general internal medicine clinic specialising in geriatric medicine with a total of 60 beds, including 6 beds in the internal medicine intensive care unit with 2 ventilation places. There is close interdisciplinary co-operation with the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, particularly in the field of geriatric psychiatry.
