• Commissioned and ramp-up of 1.5 Mtpa Oxide Processing Plant 2 weeks ahead of schedule, exceeding designed tonnage by 26% and 2% within operating budget cost (Greenfield)-GSR
• Successfully De-commissioned a 3.5 Mtpa sulphide plant and placed it under care and maintenance (Brownfield)-GSR
• Spearheaded the recertification project of the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC) at the Bogoso/Prestea mine- GSR
• Neutralized acidic CCD effluents using seashells from BAYNET Limited. The project was implemented at GSR with approximately annual savings of $1.8 m
• Developed a purchase to pay (P2P) module (based on plant reagents and consumables) to help deal with suppliers when the sulphide processing plant was placed under care and maintenance and to ensure continuous operation of the oxide processing plant- GSR
• Performed test work and implemented the addition of Tannin (plant based coagulant) to the CCD to curb colloidal gold losses and increasing overall recovery by 2% - GSR
• Investigated BIOX microbe nutrients (NPK) bioavailability within the reactors and developed a module to reduce nutrient addition by 10%- GSR
• Prepared a business case for the installation of a calcination oven to help curb gold losses to slag (matte/metallic slag) and improve bullion fineness from 80% to 90%- RLO
• Prepared a business case for the installation of an Acacia (ILR) to improve gravity recoverable gold (GRG). The project is estimated to improve GRG from 40% to 70%- RLO
• Redesigned gravity screens and optimized the knelson concentrators operation to increase GRG from 30% to 40%- RLO
• Revamped the usage of TAC 1000 cyanide analyzer to control cyanide dosage; an initial cost savings of 5% was recorded but further optimization could yield more cost savings by reducing cyanide consumption. Leach recovery could also be improved by the stable control philosophy employed by the cyanide analyzer as compared to the manual dosage-RLO
• Developed a module to monitor DETOX reagent usage (based on the WAD cyanide in the feed) which helped reduced the reagent consumption by 5%- RLO
• Improved elution efficiency from 95% to 98% by changing the sequencing strategy. This intend improved the relative carbon activity of the regenerated carbon and also improved the subsequent carbon loadings- RLO
• Involved in the mill expansion project at the RLO Campbell mill that increased throughput from 2000 tpd to over 2300 tpd and still pushing the limits to 2500 tpd. The optimization started with modification of the crushing system to reduce the p80 from 14 mm to 7 mm and also providing the required crushed feed tonnage within 12 hours. Grinding efficiency was improved by media blend (balls & rods), slurry density optimization and vortex finder (VF) and spigots change on existing cyclones-RLO.
