Design and Implementation of Facility for New Model components in Shop-7, Mr. A.Leo Bernard, Deputy Manager, shop VII, Ashok Leyland, ltd, Ennore, Chennai, Tamilnadu, INDIA.

• Design and implementation of new facilities like pallets & gauges for the new model components in shop-7, for realization of this we designed the input & output pallets for the new components (4-cylinder & 6-cylinder Neptune engine crank shafts). Also designed plug gauge, step gauge, bore gauges for FVDP Axle Beam machining process.

Analysis of stress and deformation in various gear trains using finite element method, Dr. V. SAI SRIKANTH, Associate Professor, Department Mechanical Engineering, GITAM institute of technology, GITAM University. 

• The contact stress in the mating gears is the key parameter in gear design.
• This project presents the stress analysis of mating teeth of various gears to find maximum contact stress in the gear trains.
• For the analysis, steel, aluminum and grey cast iron are used as the materials of the gears.
• The gears are sketched, modeled and assembled in sketcher, part design and assembly design of CATIA version.5 respectively.
• As Finite Element Method (FEM) is easy and accurate technique for stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is done in finite element software ANSYS 14.5.
• In this various gear trains are compared for different stresses, different materials at varying loads among different gears.
• From this analysis the best feasible gear train is identified from the various gear trains such as Spur, Helical and Bevel gear trains.
• Along with the contact stresses, various deformations and strains will also be synthesized.
