I graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science, with a certificate in Child Advocacy. In addition to the required coursework, I focused specifically on juvenile delinquency, lifespan development, and child abuse and neglect. My passion for helping my community led me to volunteer at the Talbot County Health Department, where I learned about the detriments that opioid addiction had on people of all ages and social statuses. My goal is to focus on the growth and development of people so they can achieve their goals no matter what life has bestowed upon them. Shortly after graduating college, I joined the military in the Army Reserves and became a Staff Sergeant. As a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves, I am the first line leader to unsure the wellbeing of the soldiers in my squad. My job is to surprise groups of soldiers assigned under me, to make sure the task of the day is performed correctly and efficiently. Since 2021, I have been a correctional officer for the state of Delaware. Some of my responsibilities include supervising inmates and monitoring their activities within detention facilities. I transport and escort inmates in secured areas according to relevant laws, policies, and procedures while enforcing the rules and regulations inside the prison. I also work to de-escalate any disputes that may occur between inmates, which helps to prevent disturbances and assaults.
