Project: "The Evolution and Determinants of Value Chain Network Positions in the Asia-Pacific Region"
- Data Construction and Processing: Collected and compiled bilateral trade data, FDI inflows, technology gap indicators, and natural resource endowments for 19 Asia-Pacific economies, building a balanced panel dataset covering 2005–2020.
- Methodological Innovation and Modeling: Introduced social network analysis into the study of value chains by using UCINET software to calculate network centrality, serving as a quantitative measure of each economy’s position within the value chain network.
- Heterogeneity Analysis and Policy Insights: Conducted subgroup regressions by income level and found that technology gaps significantly affect only non-high-income economies, while the effect of FDI is substituted by financial development levels—providing empirical support for differentiated regional policy recommendations.
- Research Recognition: The project was awarded First Prize at the 1st International Economics Undergraduate Academic Forum, where I presented the findings and received highly positive feedback from the expert panel.
