Summary

Detail-oriented remote ESL teacher and mentor with 7+ years of interpersonal communication and relationship building experience. Don't let the "ESL" label fool you, these students are incredibly intelligent, they hold themselves to the highest of academic standards, and they excel at our undergraduate and master's level lesson plans. I independently manage up to 10 students at once, teaching them on a 1-on-1 basis by preparing and delivering lesson plans with a detailed timeline, specific goals and assignments, and milestones to encourage growth. These international students continue on to attend Canada's top universities; from Rotman Commerce, to University of Toronto Law, and UBC Sauder School of Business.

projects

As the (freelance & entry level) marketing and development consultant for Mad Skin, I created a minimalist, mobile-friendly website using Wordpress (https://madskin.ca) to get the company up and running. Madisen, the owner of Mad Skin, is a new medical aesthetician in the Kelowna market. In the future, once Madisen enters her company full time and is ready for a larger client base, my suggested strategy for growth includes:

  • Build an email marketing list and distribute exclusive promotional emails
  • Utilize giveaways and paid advertisements on Instagram tailored to a specific target audience
  • Partner with local influencers to gain visibility
  • Keep the website up-to-date with monthly promotions, service/product spotlights and client Google reviews
  • Create a Mad Skin LinkedIn account to connect with prospective clients, establish credability and produce quality engagement with professional audiences

Although this is a passion project, it has peaked my interest in advertising, digital marketing & business growth, and I hope to learn more about these fields in the future!
