Summary

I have 40+ years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. My skill sets are mainly in the residential field, but I am also experienced in the commercial field later in my career. It's about a 70/30 split, respectfully. The building industry has been my lifelong quest. This is all that I have done my entire work life. In the four decades of experience, I have obtained a great diversity of talents. I started as a laborer, and it took years just to become a carpenter. I kept my nose to the grindstone and used my Ohio University B.A. in business management to help the company I worked for grow.

Now I want to take some things off my plate and concentrate my talents specifically on the needs of my new employer. I want to be less in the office and more in the field, without worrying about the day-to-day health of the company.

In summation, I have climbed the ladder of the construction industry, but I used every rung to make this journey. I look forward to showing you how much of an asset I can be to your company.

Work History

Chief Operations Officer

Project Management Services
Seaford
2015 - Current

The company was founded on the business plan to help smaller construction businesses with large projects. P.M.S. also provides Site Supervisors (commercial and residential), Project Managers, and Site Inspectors for pre-inspection inspections to ensure an easy flow of job progression.

My job was to make sure that day-to-day operations ran smoothly. I am responsible for crew scheduling, job scheduling, and personnel. My tasks were to visit job sites and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to. I implemented a reward/penalty safety procedure for staff, which really improved compliance.

Reason for leaving: wanting to lessen my load of responsibilities and diversity of tasks. I would like to concentrate my skill sets to best suit my next employer's needs.

Director of Operations

Zonko Builders
Selbyville

I took care of all the day-to-day activities in conjunction with the owner. My duties were to schedule crews, as well as any subcontractors. I also did material take-offs and ordering to ensure timely delivery. The client had my number, and I would problem-solve any issues they may have in a timely manner. I went to all job sites on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness, quality work, and safety procedures were enforced. I was also in charge of hiring and firing employees as warranted. I started as Site Supervisor on 2/05, then worked my way up to Director of Operations.
