- Working with patients struggling with mental health, I have learned much about how different mental disorders manifest, and also about the close, and sometimes dangerous bond that patients can form with their diagnosis; the importance of when and how the diagnosis is made and its consequences
- Learned also, to view these disorders from a psychoanalytic and gender perspective in terms of how to deliver the diagnosis so that the patient doesn't receive it as a 'lifetime sentence' and learns to live and work with it in a more peaceful and organic way
- I have also learned and are very interested in subjects such as gender identities, gender expressions, the many ways these can be lived and the role that gender roles play in current societal and cultural malaise.
