Tooryalay Ayoubi earned his Ph.D. From the Institute of Geographical Sciences “division of Applied Geography, Environmental Hydrology, and Resource Management” at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2024. His doctoral research focused on water resource management and hydrological modelling. Specifically, he studied and assist the impact of climate change on water resources availability in the Kabul River Basin (KRB) in Afghanistan using the SWAT hydrological model. In 2017, he obtained his M.Sc. in Water Resource Engineering from the University of the Ryukyus in Japan, and in 2011, he earned his B.Sc. in Geoscience, specializing in Geography from the Kabul University in Afghanistan. Ayoubi's expertise spans several key areas, including water management, hydrological modelling “particularly with the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT)” and the climate change analysis and its impacts, environmental, geography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has held several professional roles within Afghanistan and internationally, including 1: Senior GIS/Hydrological Modelling Specialist with the Chief Advisory Office to H.E. the President on Agriculture and Development (ARG), 2: Senior MIS/GIS Specialist for the Community-Based Agriculture and Rural Development (CBARD) and Climate Change Adaptation Project (CCAP) projects which was founded by UNEP in the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), and 3: Topography Engineer at the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) in Afghanistan.
